Product details
Product description
XORAYA External Storage Units allow log data to be stored externally without having to free up memory space on the data logger between test runs. Any XORAYA data logger equipped with the interface for external storage media can be used to download the recorded data. The ESU is downloaded from the data logger or from the XORAYA Datacube-C6 & C6+ via the same cable that is used for data transmission. The connection is safely disconnected via a button and LEDs indicate power supply, access and connection status.
Project-specific adaptations
All components of the XORAYA ecosystem are designed to work together seamlessly and can be flexibly combined to create individual system solutions. The modular architecture enables targeted expansions without changing the existing system logic – for a consistent and scalable system in terms of data rate, memory, interfaces and performance.
Verification, tests & conformity to standards
All devices undergo comprehensive verification tests, including functional tests, boundary scan tests and system tests as well as EMC tests. In addition, mechanical function and wear tests, vibration tests and temperature and humidity tests are carried out to ensure reliability under real operating conditions.
We also carry out compliance tests for automotive and standard Ethernet interfaces using Teledyne LeCroy measurement systems and QualiPHY software. This produces standard-compliant, reproducible measurement results that enable reliable integration into vehicle networks and development environments.
Our development and business processes meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. X2E is also certified according to TISAX® (ENX Association) and meets the information security requirements of the automotive industry. All devices bear the CE mark and comply with the applicable European directives.

FAQ
In this FAQ you will find answers to key questions about the XORAYA ESU – from typical application scenarios and technical features to how it compares to other solutions.
What is the difference between an ESU and an RSU?
The XORAYA ESU (External Storage Unit) is an external memory for expanding data loggers such as the N4000/N4000+ or the ML-N4000. It is connected to the device via a cable and is used to expand the storage capacity during operation.
The XORAYA RSU (Removable Storage Unit), on the other hand, is a removable storage unit that is used in data sinks such as the N8000 or the N16000. It can be easily removed and used for data transport or evaluation outside the vehicle.
Which devices are compatible with the ESU?
- XORAYA N4000 and N4000+
- XORAYA ML-N4000
How is the XORAYA ESU read out?
The XORAYA ESU can be read out in two ways:
- Via the data logger:
The ESU remains connected to the data logger and the data is read out directly via the device. - Via a readout station (Datacube-C6/C6+):
The ESU is removed and connected to a separate readout station. This enables the data to be read out particularly quickly and efficiently.
The use of the Datacube offers the additional advantage that several ESUs can be read out in parallel, which significantly increases the data throughput, especially with large amounts of data.
