Product details

Product description

The N16000 is the next evolutionary stage of the XORAYA N series and now supports a data rate of up to 15 Gbit/s. It serves as a central hub to centrally record all data acquisition devices in the vehicle. The data reaches the data sink via 1 GbE/10 GbE interfaces – e.g. from cascadable data loggers and probes – and is stored on a removable PCIe storage unit (XORAYA RSU) with up to 32 TB. Alternatively, the data can also be transferred directly to an external computer system via Ethernet.

The data sink is available in different device variants, which differ primarily in their interface configuration. Two variants are available as standard:

Configuration 1
  • 16x Gbit Ethernet
  • 12x 100BASE-T1
  • 6x SFP+
Configuration 2
  • 16x Gbit Ethernet
  • 6x SFP+

The device has extensive functions for configuring, controlling and analyzing data recordings. The following list shows an excerpt of key functions. A complete description can be found under Technical data or the Software tab.

Thanks to its modular architecture and comprehensive support of all common automotive interfaces via connected data loggers and probes, the data sink is suitable for a wide range of development, testing and analysis tasks.

Thanks to a modular system architecture, our solutions offer flexible customization options for development and test projects. Individual hardware and function configurations enable seamless integration into existing vehicle and test environments.

All devices undergo comprehensive verification tests, including functional tests, boundary scan tests and system tests as well as EMC tests. In addition, mechanical function and wear tests, vibration tests and temperature and humidity tests are carried out to ensure reliability under real operating conditions.

We also carry out compliance tests for automotive and standard Ethernet interfaces using Teledyne LeCroy measurement systems and QualiPHY software. This produces standard-compliant, reproducible measurement results that enable reliable integration into vehicle networks and development environments.

Our development and business processes meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. X2E is also certified according to TISAX® (ENX Association) and meets the information security requirements of the automotive industry. All devices bear the CE mark and comply with the applicable European directives.

FAQ

In this FAQ you will find answers to key questions about the XORAYA N16000 data sink – from typical application scenarios and technical features to how it compares to other solutions.

The XORAYA N16000 is a central data sink for distributed logger systems and networks multiple data loggers and probes. It enables high-performance, synchronous recording of large volumes of data from different sources – especially in data-intensive applications such as ADAS and autonomous driving.

Typical applications in the automotive sector:

  • Centralized high-performance data logging (e.g. ADAS, autonomous driving)
  • Vehicle development and function validation
  • Test drives and vehicle testing

Further areas of application:

  • Robotics and autonomous systems
  • Mechanical engineering and industrial systems (centralized process data logging)
  • Aerospace (distributed data acquisition)
  • Research and development (high-channel measurement data acquisition)

The XORAYA N16000 data sink uses removable memory (XORAYA RSU) for data storage and is designed for use in distributed logger systems. The data sink can be combined with probes and various data loggers and acts as a central instance in the overall system.

The N8000 records data at up to 8 Gbit/s. The N16000 is the next evolutionary stage of the XORAYA N series and now supports a data rate of up to 15 Gbit/s.

The XORAYA N16000 data sink was developed for use in automotive test environments and fulfills typical requirements for measurement and data recording systems in vehicle networks. The XORAYA N16000 data sink supports common automotive technologies, diagnostic standards and time synchronization procedures.

Several hardware variants are available for the XORAYA N16000. Each variant combines different numbers and types of supported bus systems and interfaces.

The data sink supports the following interfaces:

  • Automotive Ethernet (100BASE-T1)
  • Gbit Ethernet
  • SFP+

These hardware configurations enable the parallel recording of several vehicle networks with a single automotive data logger.

Other bus systems such as CAN, CAN-FD, LIN or FlexRay can be recorded via connected data loggers and probes.

The N16000 is currently running firmware version 5, which means that full configuration and control are possible via the WebGUI. No additional hardware or software is required to read the data, as the N16000 has a file system. It can be accessed directly over the network, just like any other network device.

In addition, the XORAYA Suite and the XORAYA SDK (Software Development Kit) are also supported.

The XORAYA N16000 data sink is based on a modular hardware and software architecture that enables flexible adaptations for specific development and test projects. This allows the system to be seamlessly integrated into existing vehicle and test environments.

  • Additional interfaces and special protocols
  • Range of functions, trigger logics and export formats
  • Capture speed, memory and system performance
  • Customized installation racks and complete vehicle integrations

The XORAYA N16000 combines numerous Ethernet interfaces and high data bandwidth in one system. In conjunction with the XORAYA platform, scalable logging systems can be set up for complex vehicle testing.

The XORAYA N16000 differs from many data loggers and sinks on the market due to the following key features:

  • Support of modern vehicle networks
The N16000 supports HS-CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet (100/1000BASE-T1), Gbit-Ethernet, FlexRay, RS-232, LIN as well as analog and digital inputs via connected data loggers and probes.
  • Modular architecture for flexible test setups
The N16000 offers flexible customization options for development and test projects. Individual hardware and function configurations enable seamless integration into existing vehicle and test environments.
  • Solid data bandwidth for modern vehicle architectures
With a data bandwidth of up to 15 Gbit/s, data from several vehicle networks can be recorded simultaneously. This is particularly relevant for Ethernet-based vehicle architectures and data-intensive measurements.
  • Robustness for real vehicle testing
The N16000 is designed for use in test vehicles and is resistant to temperature and vibration.
  • Expandability within a system platform
Integration into the XORAYA system platform allows the sink to be combined with other devices and storage solutions. This allows scalable logging systems with multiple devices to be set up for complex measurement tasks.
