Ethernet Converter
The Automotive Ethernet Converter converts Gigabit Ethernet data between Automotive Ethernet and Standard Ethernet (100/1000BASE-T1<->100/1000BASE-T).
Product Description
The further development of our OABR2Ethernet media converter is now also capable of converting Gigabit Ethernet data between 1000BASE-T1 and standard Ethernet. Furthermore, 100BASE-T1 is also supported. The primary purpose of the device is to convert Ethernet signals between a vehicle’s ECU on one side and a PC or data logger on the other. Moreover, it can be used for any other application where this functionality is required.
In addition, the Automotive Ethernet Converter contains a high-speed CAN transceiver. If no activity is detected on the connected CAN bus, the device can optionally be set to sleep mode to reduce power consumption. The time period without CAN activity can be set via software.
The basic configuration is done via DIP switches and LEDs indicate the status of the media converter and the connected interfaces. The firmware of the device can be updated via a USB bootloader.
